crazy quilt pieces

For the past several months i have been making crazy quilt squares about 15 inches square.
I use black velvet for the most part, with bits and pieces of other colorful pieces
I embroidery all along where the pieces meet and they are real beautiful and unique.
My daughter adds all kinds of do hickeys that she buys at fabric stores and makes them into something really nice.
Now, she has put together about 9 of them into a crazy quilt bedspread or wall hanging.
There ae some others made of lighter materials and she has made them into something very lovely.
Together, we make qUite a team
She picks up old furniture and paints them into colorful works of art also. love, alma

Alma, my wife also quilts, and loves to make crazy quilts. She actually made one 9 years ago that hung at our wedding. It was made from all wedding gown material scraps, all from the same small place that made her gown. She stiched all of the pieces by hand,embroidered around each one, then in the center embroidered an applique with a gazebo, flowers, me in my tux, and her in her wedding gown. (yes she even stitched in my salt and pepper hair lol) She finished off by trimming and embellishing the whole thing with antique pearl buttons, ribbons,charms, and some pearls from wedding gowns. It hangs in our living room now so we will never forget it. Sometime I'll have to take a picture of it to post here.
