Good, looks like you have most bases covered. How about a centerfire handgun? Now stock some ammo and/or get into reloading.

Good start, maybe a more modern center fire rifle, and most definitly the 12 ga pump.
Thanks for sharing.

I see nothing wrong with your battery. A pump shotgun would be the next logical choice to add.

a more modern rifle would be good but these will do the job. besides the price was right. i am considering a SKS as ammo is cheap and they do have a proven track record. i have a sXs stevens going in for a repair that i cant do, its a gift from my FIL for my son when he is big enough to use it. so i guess i need a pump for me, that double is his.

yeah thats a good reason to get a new gun, dont you think? lol

Just a quick break down on what you have for the new folks that may be reading this.

30/30 Winchester 94:Great all around around rifle. Hunting, protection, very common 30/30 ammunition millions of them sold all over the world. Ammunition on par with 7.62x39(AK47/SKS caliber) I like them because you can shoot and reload with one in the chamber.

.22 Rimfire: Great for hunting small game, no recoil, low noise, as cheap as you can ever shoot. You can carry 1000 rounds in a backpack and still have plenty of room for the rest of your gear. Every survival battery should have one.

303 enfield: Great round for big game, a proven battle weapon used in world war II, Slick action for rapid fire, Caliber capable of long range shooting.

Single shot 12 ga shotgun. I bet that there were more single shot shotguns that went with pioneers to the American west than anything else. What other weapon could do so much for such a simple weapon.

The one thing I like about this battery is simplicity every firearm has a job and can overlap into many other duties protection, food gathering etc.... Each firearm is in a common caliber which is very important if you have to find ammunition you will likely be able to find these over the imported ammunition.

If you are comfortable with the WIN 94 and shoot it well you've got 90% of a .30-06 especially if you handload. Bullets commonly available range from 100 to 190 grains~very good JUJU.

Same goes for the Enfild one of the most prolific bolt action battle rifles in history. Ammunition is COMMON in almost any of rhe (former) British Commonwealth. Again there are a WIDE range of bullet weights available and the Enfields tend to be very rugged and durable rifles, and properly bedded and stocked can be very accurate.

If you don't handload now you really should consider starting, you can really wring out all the versatility trapped in those two fine rifles.

A great collection and pretty broad coverage. Congratulations!

I just have one question.

I see you have locks on all but the Enfield. Is that because you don't have a safe? My preferred method is to keep them unlocked in the safe and only lock them when I take them out to go shooting. Plus, my pump shotgun is loaded (none in the chamber) and ready and I have my magazines and clips filled and one or two of each in the safe along with extra ammo for each. It's faster for me that way if I need one in a hurry.

He lives in Canada I think its a law if its not "in use" it has to be "secured" or whatever language they used in their ridiculous laws. I guess the Enfield is "in use!"

;o)
