Will my clothes smell like my laundry detergent?

I was so excited to make my own laundry detergent until I opened my bars of soap and realized how much I dislike the way they smell. Will my clothes take on the scent from the soap and smell like Zote or Fels Naptha?

I can most definitely say NO! I made a batch of soap using red palm oil and the smell just about drove us out of the house. Bob refused to bathe with it. So I cured it, ground it up and made liquid laundry soap out of it. It smells very strong coming out of the bottle (and it's a weird yellow color), but the clothes don't smell at all when the washer is done with its cycle. Good luck!

Hi, I'm new here, but I'd just like to share that my homemade laundry soap stinks TERRIBLY of ammonia but my clothes simply smell CLEAN! :D
