We have a large incubator, and we have some people in our area wanting to pay us to use the incubator. I don't mind hatching their eggs out, but they are wanting to pay us for it, and I'm not sure if I should let them, or if so, what to charge them. Does anyone else do this? Thanks, Amy

If i felt that i didn't want to charge them, then i'd look for some way to trade with them. What do they do or raise that would help you??

Usually you split the hatch. They provide the eggs. You set them. Then you get first pick on half the hatch.

One thing to keep in mind is, if they are "new" to incubators and hatching, they may expect 42 chicks out of 42 eggs and if or when you only get 25 chicks they may think you cheated them....

sounds fair - and if you don't need the chicks but the neighbor does, then charge a reasonable fee for selling the chicks -

Hey all- so they brought the eggs today-I explained that I wasn't sure they would all hatch, and that I did'nt want to take their money at all, especially if they didn't hatch. They said that the hatchery they had been going to charged .20 an egg up front, and then they picked up whatever hatched. I told them I would love to do it for no money, and the older guy said I'm paying for a service. I would be paying the other place anyways, and this is saving me a ton in gas. Please take my money. It was only 5 bucks total for the eggs, but I just feel bad for some reason. They are super excited about this and have lots of plans for my incubator! LOL. They are spreading the word too. Oh boy. I hope this works.
