About ten months ago I bought one of those 1853 Enfields from IMA that were found in Nepal (they were only a couple of hundred bucks). My neighbor looked at it and said it was in decent mechanical condition, so maybe it'll be alright to shoot once I get it all cleaned up. I haven't seen it yet, seeing as how I've been in the middle east for about eleven months. Due to rotate home next month.
My question is this- how in the world can I clean out the barrel on the thing? Word has it that some of those nepal rifles are still loaded- so cleaning out the barrel properly is a big priority. I bought it as a wall hanger, not a shooter, so if I can't shoot it, no big deal. But if possible, I will shoot it once or twice. Any help you guys could give me would be appreciated.
