New to goats and just got some that are 7 -8 weeks old. I have been reading Story's Dairy Goat book and getting stressed about them not being disbudded... Is is too late? Should I let them grow?
Reading this book has left me feeling somewhat intimidated... I am wondering if I should find a vet or maybe I need to mellow. It surely isn't rocket science keeping a goat. ?? Vaccines, disbudding, etc...
I found one vet for large animals in my area, but not mobile- so this requires stuffing goats in van and hauling some distance and them being sedated and $80/ea to disbud, which seems astronomical since they were free goats that I got to clear brush. Any advice appreciated!!

$80 each! :o
That's ridiculous!
It's way to late to burn them off, unless you can find a reasonalby priced vet, I'd leave them on as Debbie suggested.
