Donkey help, please

My Christmas gift is going to be a 3 year old miniature donkey. I have been wanting to get one(and later a jenny to go with him) for a long time. Only problem is, I don't know a thing about them. Of any of you know anything about them I sure would appreciate the help.

Was toying with the idea of donkeys - as a transportation alternative. Have no experience with them, but came across this web site that got into training and reading body language. Hope it helps - good luck!
