I've been telling a few people about the quilt Lisa made to hang at our wedding, but till now never got around to posting pictures. FINALLY I took a minute to take some!

She made the entire thing from scrap wedding dress material, all given to her by the same lady who made her dress. The pieces are machine sewn, but the embroidery around each peice was done by hand in the color the bridesmaids wore. The center was an applique she found a pattern for, but she customized it a bit to make it look like us. (I have glasses and salt&pepper hair lol) She embelleshed the rest with very old buttons and bells. It hangs in our living room now.

Kinda scary that I knew all the proper quilt and sewing terms eh? LOL

What a great idea, I never would have thought of a white on white crazy quilt - it's beautiful. Any chance of some higher-resolution pictures?

That's a truly treasure for sure!

I learned to do embroidery from my Mom. Have a few piecies that I've done, but don't have the patience to stay at it very long. Thus, I can really appreciate what went into making that wonderful quilt.

Thanks for all the comments folks. She is still very proud of her work on that quilt. The origional plan was to have the bridesmaids help with the embroidery, but that didn't happen. She ended up doing all of it by herself. I need to find someone with a working scanner so I can post the pics of it hanging at our wedding reception. I made a big frame for it from pvc pipe, and it hung right beside our table. The rack it hangs on how has a shelf on top with some of our wedding pictures, and our cake topper. It's always a nice reminder of that day everytime I walk into the living room.

I'll get better pictures when I can
