Cast bullets are the BEST choise for your revolvers! Lead bullets go faster with the same charge of powder, compared to jacketed bullets, and do it at lower pressures. Best part is, if properly cast, they are just as accurate or even more accurate than jacketed bullets...

My own cast bullets are the ONLY bullets my 357's and 44's ever see!

I kinda in a quandery on which mold to pick up for the .44 mag's
I shoot both revolvers and a Ruger carbine auto loader.
Any suggestions?

Been casting for the .357, mostly for targets so I chose the .158gr semi wad cutter w/gas checks.

I was at a gun show today and seemed to be a few molds there I need to pick your guy's brain a bit more before I buy one and I will need a kettle as well.

Did pick up a nice old H&R 923 nickel 22 revolver nice to carry on the trap line if I end up trapping this year. Also stocked up on more ammo which the rush on ammo seems to have settled down some. Ken

In general, center fire auto rifles don't do well with cast, mostly because they gum the auto up, expecially if it's gas operated, like the old Ruger 44's are... I don't shoot any cast in mine...

My absolute fav 44 bullet for my 44 revolvers, comes from the RCBS mold # 44-250KT I have a pile of molds, but that one is the keeper...

Hi Hunter
My favorate .44 cast bullet is Lyman's 429421. I shoot that in all my guns. I don't have a Ruger carbine, and I know they recommend NOT shooting cast in it.

However, I do have a .30 M1 carbine that I shoot with Lyman's 130 grain round point. I have no cleaning/feeding/fouling problems at all and it gets 1" groups at 25 yards with cast.

I'd say give it a try in your carbine only if you know how to disassemble the gas piston and clean it.

I realize that just about every one says not to shoot the cast bullets, but I have shot wad cutters, even though the were semi-jacketed in it with no problems.
Yeah I know, apples/oranges

The KT gives it away, it's RCBS' version of the Keith design, and i like it better that all the other versions out there... You can see it here... http://www.huntingtons.com/bulletmoulds.html It's mold number 82080.
