The man is supposed to come this afternoon and help me trim my six goats' hooves....

I need to be doing this myself so this morning got two of the girls and trimmed their feet just a little....

I believe if I work with them a little each day I can get to where I can do them all with no problem.

I just trimmed a little this morning on each foot since this was my first time to do it by myself.

Had taken corn meal down there in a little plastic bowl so if I knicked one of them I could set the hoof down in the bowl and stop the bleeding....Jodie was so interested in EATING the cornmeal she didn't care too much what I did to her feet....

But if I put something into the little tray at the milking stand for the one to eat that I am working on, then all the other goats crowd around....

I may try taking them out of the pasture one at a time to cut their feet....then I could give them a treat to eat while I trim and all the other goats wouldn't be crowding around...

Oh I need to do my 2 goats feet too they are horrible. I had the hoof man do the donkeys but forgot the poor goats. I need to learn but I'm scared! These guys are very tame so not scared of THEM but hurting them or doing it wrong.

Your most welcome!

I sure wish I had this when I first started trimming! I started out with wire cuters and tying the goat to a tree. LOL what fun! Later in 4-H they tought us the right way to trim and I've been doing it ever since!

Glad ya all's can use this! ;)

Well...for the 1st time I guess it wasn't that bad! LOL

I thought they would hold still for me though so had to fight em a little but we didn't draw blood anyway!

Awesome!! NO blood is a VERY good thing!!

TIP: IF you got a kicker and can find some extra help they can hold the legs for you and on the hind legs if you squeze just above the hock (back knees) they can't kick anymore, thou they may try from the hip area but it's not as strong!! ;)
