here at the new farm,, i found tons of wild plums, rose hips ,, chokecherries,, highbush cranberries and hawthorns,,, also a forlorn hops vine,,,there are two ornamental crabapples and three regular crabapples.. all along the rural roads we see the same thing,, just ask the owners if you can pick and you're set for the rest of your life
the guy i buy my hay from had a colony of honey bees hanging from his grain bin,, i asked he said yes,,
i took a friend of mine to harvest the colony,, comb and honey .. no charge
he was able to start two new colonies and only had to buy one new queen for the second box..
folks if you want to do honey bees get all the equipment first then wait,, they'll show up... the bees were not aggressive and we saw the group of hives they probably escaped from...
some folks dont know the difference between bees and hornets and yellow jackets.. do the reading and research first...
it was an exciting time and we got great pics..
if more show up next year we'll go back and harvest them
