Apologies for jumping in on your thread, but I am looking at moving to Oregon soon, possibly near Eugene. Is there anything that you could share about the state that I should know, or could you offer any tips on that area? I would most certainly appreciate it.

I am originally from Portland, lived 5 years in Washington but moved back to Oregon due to lower taxes and better rights for gun owners.

We moved into an area that is very new to us but we LOVE it.
It is an adventure for sure....sometimes we feel like we are on that show Frontier House, lol.

We never realized how much we disliked the city until we got out of it. Living on less/needing less material possessions is actually a blessing. Not having to deal with the overflowing rich bitch Paris Hilton types has been so refreshing.

Hey there! I'm a native Oregonian (got webbed feet to prove it!). We're in SW Oregon, and love it.

Gardener/prepper/wanna-be homesteaders in north central Oregon (dryside of the Cascade Mountains, along the Columbia River). It's rural and windy where we live. No stop lights in our whole county. Population is declining, the schools and churches are small, and its all good to me.

Our son/his family live in Hillsboro. We fly out west/visit as often as possible. The wife & I are looking forward to relocating to OR once we retire.

I was born and raised there. Born in Eugene and graduated from LaGrande. I miss the NW but I am in Missouri now and I love it.

Battleground is about 20 minutes north of Vancouver - still a suburb though, not getting the farm quite yet, but working toward it :(

countryJo, it's a short sale and now we're hung up - haven't heard from the seller's bank in a month, so we're getting frustrated - hopefully though the move should happen before Thanksgiving :(
