Hi all. My name is Jason and I hail from eastern KY where I live on my family farm. The farm has been in my family for 4 generations.
I am a truck driver by trade, but am unemployed at the moment (actually, since March) so I spend a lot of time working my butt off farming. I'm hoping to find a job that will leave me some time to work on my own projects here, but it isn't looking hopeful.
I really enjoy doing things with my hands, whether it's growing a garden, working on farm equipment, shooting, reloading, hunting, or just trying to get ahead with all the projects we seem to have going on here.
I've been reading this forum for quite a while, ever since mom joined, and I've learned a lot and found some really good ideas. I didn't join earlier because I didn't think I had much to contribute, but mom (sbemt456) convinced me otherwise. Besides, it's nice to be able to give back and pass on some of the knowledge I gained over the years. Hopefully I can contribute something other people can benefit from, and maybe make a few new friends on the way.

Jason,
Welcome! Of course, we all know your mother and some of us already seem to "know" you, too! LOL... (She has mentioned you a time or two.)
Glad to see that she got you to join.
Don't worry about not having anything to contribute. I'm certain you will have much more to contribute than you think, especially with the type of upbringing you had.
Welcome.

Did ya know your Momma's a Bear? You jus ask her about that. That makes you Jasonbear :) ... Do you know how your Momma got to be so smart and how You have come to learn so much already? Look back to your Grandfather. If we listen and watch carefully, the Good Lessons ride with us throughout our lives. When I saw his picture I could see it. That man was a real Somebody.
There is more that goes with your family's farm than the lay of the land. There is character and goodness of heart and the desire to keep all of this rich family history intact for the future young ones. When ya pick up a handful of dirt under your feet smell it. There is blood and tears and sweat in that dirt. There is a heritage there that is helping you to grow into a strong, good Man. I'm proud to Welcome you, Jason, to BHM and am looking forward to hearing from You and getting to know You.
God Bless all of Your Efforts
Be Strong

Its good to have you here and look forward to hearing about your experiences of life on the farm and maybe I can learn a few things from ya. Thanks all.
I do have some great news on the job front. It looks as though I will be working for a FedEx contractor pretty soon. I'm just waiting for some paperwork to come through. It's been a real hassle getting this job because I had to get my Hazmat endorsement back on my CDL and I need a passport in order to be able to drive in Canada. I think it's going to take my entire first paycheck just to recover the money I spent getting the job. But at least it's work. I've kinda enjoyed having the summer off to work here on the farm, but money's getting really tight around here and I've got a truck to pay for, not to mention I miss being able to keep up my shooting habits.
I should start work this weekend or early next week, so my upcoming posts will hopefully be from a truck somewhere in Radomtown, USA.
