Beautiful Johnson County Illinois. We are having crazy weather here...about 6" of sleet, followed by 2" ice, followed by 5" snow. WHEW!!! Luckily, where I am we still have power. The county seat-Vienna is without power in several areas. In the great ice storm of '08, we were without power for 3+ days. We have a lot of camping gear that came into use. It was hard for lots of folks who aren't used to 'roughing it'. Many bailed out and went to town to stay in motels. (SISSY FOLKS)

You mean there are only a few of us (willing to admit) from Illinois on here? Well, to be honest, I don't blame you. We must be the laughing stock of the country. Many times I have been ashamed to admit I was from the Land of Lincoln. With all the crap that is going on in the Gov. (both state and national) Illinois is one of the worst states to be living in.

GUys/gals you got a great state,, no there now but i spent my childhood on a farm that you got to by " turning off the hard road" 7 miles south of Chester in randolph county.

It WAS a great state, but now has many blemishes...
I live SE of Chester, and I really love my area, just wish we didn't have such corrupt folks in places of authority.

why i remeber it there was Chicago (That got all the money) and then there was illinois

Well now it is more like...Chicago, then Springfield, the East St Louis area, and the rest of us.
