geese addition

Well I got lucky I guess you could say a friend knew someone that was gitting rid of some geese,, up here they can go for 40 bucks a piece for the darned things..depending on if they are rare breed birds or not..
he brought them to me to preview .. 17 birds.. Grey backs.. two are pomeranians .. looks to be 4 ganders in the bunch ..
we lost one bird the second week to a predator and so far all is well.
i did some reading on them and looks to me like i'll be winding some down and passing them off to anyone who might be needing to start a flock of their own.. one gander for two geese.. just gotta wait to see which is which by next year..... what i cant sell as holiday birds dressed and weighed i'll donate out ...

that is nice of you silvergramma. we have 2 ganders. all that is left from the killing spree the neighbor's dog had with our flock.

ahm, I guess geese are not a flock, a flock of hens, a gaggle of geese.

hey you learn something new everyday...lol I'm suppose to separate some of them into trios of one gander and two geese so its easier on the mating and egg production , on these guys i cant tell a gander from a goose and sure aint gonna fight the danged things to turn them over for sexing lol...
