A story in the Tulsa World reports that two new proposed bills will take away some of the rights of those that homeschool. The story doesn't provide a great deal of detail but from what I read, I would not support these bills.

the public schools are a joke...most teachers do nothing but babysitting.
the public schools aren't accountable, why should home schools be held accountable.
most schools require 4 years of math algebra, geometry, etc. none of that stuff matters in the real world. and how about 4 years of spanish...maybe all the hispanics coming in to our country (many are illegal) should learn the language of the country they are living in or go back to the country they came from.

We (AR) just had this tried. HS's would have to have permission from the school district to homeschool. Pulees, like that would happen, $$$$. It never made it out of committee so there must have been a lot of calls and letters. TG.
