Sometimes I wonder why we tend to try to keep our locations secret. After all, the very fact of using these computers lets The Powers That Be find us through their addresses. The land that we own is recorded in our names at the courthouse. Our driver's licenses have our physical address. The electric company certainly knows who and where we are. I am a little curious about why we have the need to hide mentatlity. Is it because we expect something horrible to happen and think we cab avoid it? Anyway, Yes, I am in ID. I'm not sure I'm going to say just where, just yet. :)

Okay...I will go first! I will be looking for a part-time job when the snow melts. And I will have to quit when snow season comes around again. I can't get in or out of our place easily enough to commit to working year round. Do any of you know of a place that would take a basically unqualified person under those circumstances? Maybe a hotel desk clerk?

I'm nearby, just SW of Spokane, Washington - I love Northern Idaho - any suggestions of good places to go rafting or tubing near CDA???

Hi, I was looking at some of the older posts and found this one. I live in the Northern Panhandle of Idaho; that is about 8 months out of the year. We have a 15-acre place we purchased two years ago and it needs a lot of work.

DH loves it; no neighbors, just elk in the field across the road in the spring and deer in the field the rest of the year. There are some bald eagles nearby and geese nesting nearby as well.

We are putting up a deer fence around the garden and will plant fruit trees this spring. Then, we'll get the ground tilled and a garden planted.

I'll be anxious to return to see if the garlic came up from my last November planting.

Boise here. Tell you what we will keep the Mormons if Northern Idaho starts taking the Californians Deal?

There is nothing I'd change about Northern Idaho; I like my little town just the way it is. Though, I would like to see folks receive a better wage for all their hard work.

I'm glad our county has said NO to any more subdivisions. There are developers coming in from Washington, Oregon and beyond to buy and develop property. No thanks, just leave things alone. Some folks from California come to Idaho, just like your families came from some other state, at one time. We work hard and want to preserve the beauty of the land. I dislike traffic, shopping malls, and the hussle-bussle of the city. Uck. Give me the country life.
