My oh my, have we ever had the rain! *It's been raining for days, off and on, and rained all night last night too. *Our sump pump sure is working overtime. *I can hear it pumping water collected from the field tile out into the septic tank... and it's doing that every 10 mins. or so. *The ground is so saturated. *

We've only had water once in our basement and that was last fall, when we supposedly had a "100 year flood" around these parts. *That's the only time in 15 years that water came into the basement. *I hope it's the only time too... but it makes me wonder when I hear that pump doin' its thing.

:o

Time to start the coffee and make my man his eggs and toast for breakfast. Hope everybody has a good day.

I wonder if there's such a thing as lake-effect rain, like there is snow, indyguy? ::) Cos we've sure had it here... rained all day today. Talked to my aunt and she said her basement is swimming again, like it did last fall. Poor soul.

Talked to a friend in Florida and he said they haven't had a good rain since last fall. He wanted me to send some of our rain down there.

Feast or famine, I guess.

That's wonderful, indyguy.

We lost the entire carpeting, padding and paneling down our basement. It was a horrible ordeal... and it happened right in the middle of my mom being in the process of dying. It just wasn't a good time on our homestead then. But the saying was true in that "this too shall pass". It did and things are better now. :)

Laporte County... as far north in the state as you can get without living in a houseboat on Lake Michigan. ;)
