I've been reading the "Sourdough" threads with great interest. I had just started my very first batch of starter when I saw them.

And here are the first loaves!

While it made some gorgeous loaves, oh my stars, was it reeeeally, really sour. My recipe is definitely gonna need some tweaking. We made it through though -- it's amazing the power of cream cheese and pear butter. ;)

Different recipes will give you different flavors. Some are very very sour while others you can't hardly taste the sourness.

Personally, I like a little bit of sour but not so enough to hide the rest of the bread flavor.
