Hello to everyone in Washington.
I just moved from the Seattle area to the dry side.
Out of the rain belt and not in the snowy Spokane area.
Yakima Valley actually. 300 days of sunshine a year. *;D

In the Willapa Valley, Pacific County. Where oysters drown, logging is still going on, and most of us have a sort of layer of moss growing on our backs...

Actually, you moved to the COLD side!!

NE of Everett here...

Only in the winter.
In the summer it's the hot side.
At 4:30 AM it was 54 degrees.
Plus the Seattle area had waaaaay more snow than I did. ;D
But to be honest we are going to get back into the upper 30s for a high this weekend.

Yea , first day of full sunshine and is it gorgeous out side. winters still not over yet but God knows the perfect timing to bring the sun out. unfortunitly as the snow melts my sins of plowing are starting to show up. This year the ground did not freeze up before the snow covered it and as I was plowing the plow shoes would dig in to far and the blade would snag some sod and gouge a chunk of dirt up.

Hot and cold is preferable to the constant rain and now fog, we are getting in So Everett. Hope this will be a better year than last year, but not looking like it.

Would love to connect with folks on the Peninsual interested in raising fish for food, gardening, homesteading, and caring for the disabled.

My cousins live just outside of Kingston, They may be interested. Except for the fish raising , they do the rest. If ya want I can ask them. And by the way they didn't feel a thing on that earth quake that epacentered just a few miles away in Kingston. How about yourself ?

Thank you for the notice of SB 6900, flatwater. Maybe if queen gregoire and her cronies had not squandered the supposed budget surplus this bill would not be proposed. Perhaps it is time for the return of the guillotine-I can think of many richly deserving of it in both state and national office.

Engine bill "never had a chance"

I posted about this yesterday but had to post again after reading a press release sent out about that controversial engine bill that's creating such a disturbance from the afterlife.
Senate Bill 6900 would have placed new fees on vehicles depending on the size of their engine. It died some time ago in the Senate Transportation Committee. But a firestorm of constituent e-mail and phone calls opposing the bill has been stirred up nonetheless.
“I’ve never had so many people asking me to kill a bill that’s already dead,” Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, chairwoman of the Senate Transportation Committee, said in a press release.
"Since the legislative deadline for bills to be heard in their house of origin was Feb. 19, there is absolutely no chance for SB 6900 to pass," the press release said.
“I appreciate hearing from constituents who are concerned, but I think someone out there did people a disservice by misinforming them about this issue — this bill never had a chance, so there was never anything to be worried about,” said Haugen, D-Camano Island.

Hi I live in the central part of Wa. I love the sun, even if its cold, do enjoy going to the ocean for vacations.
I emailed my repres this year and asked about the tax and he said it was dead. But we should always keep watch and let each other know, so many times we find things after the fact.
Glad to see so many Wa. folks.
Were retired now and just do gardening, but we have everything if we need to raise animals or do more things for ourselves. Our son lives in the front house on our property and is buying it from us. Great to have help and we share caring for each others dogs when we go somewhere. Really recommend people get enough land so their kids will have a place for them to live, land prices keeping going up, prices seem to run on a ten year cyle and we are heading back up.

Hey, I've been there a bunch of times! I love the kitschy decor. Have you ever bought a Luke's Tri-Tip at the All Seasons store? My daughter's old riding instructor was just down the road from there.

I was stationed in Washington (McChord afb) for the last 2 years of my air force career (’02-’04) and I have to say that it was one of the most beautiful, diverse and wacked out (I don’t mean that in a negative way) states I have ever been in. There were some quite colorful characters there. It seems the area from Olympia to Seattle runs the rest of the state.

NE of Seattle, on a little acreage. I am raising my family in Monroe.. but looking for more land in Chelan Co now. If all goes well, I will acquire 100 acres in by the end of the year. Unless TSHTF, I plan to stay put in Monroe until the kids are out of high school.

Nice to see so many Washingtonians here!
