Looks like I'll be home for at least a couple of days. My driveway is nothing but ice and well over a 1/4mi. long. (Not to mention the steep downhill slope)
I have a big pot of beans on the wood burner. That oughts to give me some amusement.. ;D
I have about an inch of ice on everything. Now it's starting to snow on top of that! The weather guy says it isn't going to get above freezing untill Sunday.. :-/

Not quite as bad here, but my drive is a mess. It's 100 yards uphill from the garage to the road, and it's ice now covered in 4 inches of snow with another crust of ice on top of that. I've already cleared the porch twice, and now I gotta go do it again. The Saturn would have never made it out, but the new AWD Pontiac pulled right out without hesitation.
Lots of people are complaining about this weather, but it's actually a "normal" Ohio winter, and we haven't had one for quite a few years.

I'm about 40 miles from ohio line and 30 miles south of the lake. it hasnt been above freezing for a month or more. Sowing like mad right now, supposed to get 12-18 by tomorrow. Its been a harder than the average of the past several winters but what we would consider normal. I am about 8 miles out of the snow belt than goodness, used to live in the thick of it.

I need to wait until the Twp. does the road. I can get out of the drive BUT either direction I go is downhill. Been there, Done that. Destroyed a pick up 5 yrs. ago. Those trees just don't move.. :-/

Our son lives in Cincinatti and they have ice upon top of snow and it is snowing again. even though they live in the outscirts of town our son works down town and they still have lights, with 3 small children I worry about them and living so very far away, North Carolina is so very hard as a parent.
Last week we had ice, I spun around and went down a steep back backwards, hardly any damage to my van and I just got shook up. god was sure my co-pilot that day.
PLEASE stay safe all of you and be careful.Ice is horrid.
Praying for you all

I heard the shoveling outside and by the time I got dressed the alley had been cleared by the two teen age boys next door!
The best part is, they canceled work today!

Look out ya got a Kentuckian across the border! ;) We got it here in east Ky too. No electricity yesterday till in the evening, most of our county still without power. Hubby works in the oil fields as a supervisor and they all left work there around noon today as they were not making any head way clearing roads. As soon as they got road cleared, trees were falling behind them. Oldest son drives a truck, delivers to mostly Sam's clubs and Walmarts, we talked to him this afternoon and he was in a Walmart parking lot in Cincinnati waiting for a wrecker to pull them out of the parking lot. Really messy. Phones off here and still dont know if he made it home.
You all stay safe up there!
