...in one of my magazines about a man who buried some firearms several years ago when he thought the political scene was leaning toward confiscation. He explained how he protected them and the amazing condition they were in when he found them and dug them up. I believe they were sealed in PVC pipe.

Did anyone else read that article? Where was it?

It was in this year's BHM. Great article.

Of course it happens to be one issue I'm missing.

I hear a vaccum sealer like used in the kitchen works good after a healthy dousing of RIG. THEN place into the tube. I don't remember the article, I will have to look back for it.

Several years ago I took a hand full of steel case ammo, vacume sealed it with a Seal a Meal machine and kept it under the seat of my pickup 2 summers and 3 winters.

Some of the ammo was copper washed and some laquer coated. I deliberately scratched some of the finish off all the cases in a place or two with my pocket knife down to bare metal.

The whole package shrunk down to a little bigger than two decks of cards. About 10 rounds each of 9mm and 762X39.

The ammo was taken directly out of the paper boxes, scraped, and sealed. No cleaning or coating was put on or taken off before sealing. This was the cheapest Russian and Chinese ammo available at that time.

There was no leakage in the sealed bag, and no rust on the exposed surfaces.
They all fired fine.

Your experament may be different, but this is how mine turned out.
Good luck

You may want to coat with RIG stash in these bags with some O2 absorbers and them vacuum seal before putting inside pvc pipe they'll last forever.
