Go to www.millersoap.com for all of the instructions you will need, plus recipes. I made a batch this weekend with my mom of peppermint soap for our dishes and laundry.

I have a wonderful book called Country Wisdom and Know-How Everything you need to know to live off the land. It has a step by step instruction to make soap the old fashioned way. You can get the book at books a million. it is $20 and it has a little bit of everything in it. Very helpful.

I have a webpage with a pictorial on soapmaking with recipes and links to suppliers

for a laundry soap, you'll want to make a soap that is 0% superfatted.

I prefer using 100% coconut or palm kernel oil and adding borax, triple strength sweet orange essential oil and rosemary essential oil to help cut the dirt & grease.

You will need an accurate scale that can weigh at least .2 ounces. Digital ones are best. If you can not find a scale like that, then make a large batch (using about 6 lb of oils)
