Just a friendly suggestion...

Hello,

This is just a friendly suggestion about adding an option to user profiles that we can list ourselves as "male" or "female?" I know some forums have this option, just not this one.

I was thinking about this suggestion even before a forum member accidently referred to a female forum member as a "dude." LOL

Of course, some members may not want to show on their profile as male or female. I would. But, others could choose not to, just as some don't put their state on their profile.

It would be handy to know if you were replying to a man or woman.
Most of the time I can figure it out but other times it's not so apparent.
But like wanting to know a general location it probably won't go very far.
I'll start.
I'm a dude.

I am a woman. But, I will not be offended if you refer to me as "dude." :p

(Not that I am saying anyone did get offended! I am just being playful.)

I sometimes try to look at a member's profile (as anyone can do) to see if clues me in to whether it's a "Dude" or "Dudette". LOL

Admin will have to address this. I don't know if he can enable it or not.

At one time perhaps it made a difference between dude and dudette, but having 2 teens, I found that it makes no difference. Dude is the preferred word to describe both.
Ah yes, 60 years of learning.. I love to learn, even if it is my daughters teaching me. :lol: Oh, and I am a female dude. hahaha Just ask my girls. haha

I have noticed that most posters have the male or female symbol up by the name. Is that not what that is?

Edited to say that I don't have one. Humm, I guess I didn't say when I registered.
