Thanks Martin and Happy Thanksigiving to you!

This is a very special Thanksgiving for us. Last Thanksgiving we sat down with close friends, all homesteaders, to a meal we grew almost totally on our land. I marvelled daily then about how blessed we were and how we were on our way to being self reliant shortly.

Last year Thanksgiving was a week before it all got torn apart for us and it looked over this past year several times like we may lose everything. We have alot to be thankful for this year. Alot of lessons learned, and alot of work ahead of us as we rebuilt. We are truly one of the lucky ones but certainly not because we sat back and waited to be rescued.

This lifestyle takes hard work and courage and trust in yourself that you can do things you never thought possible.

So this year - we have new close friends at our table and we have a bird we grew on our land. That's priceless.

Thank you BHMers for your encouragement and guidance along the way this year especially!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. This Thanksgiving is special to me in so many ways. I have reflected all year on the economy and the struggle so many folks are going through. I am so thankful for my health. my job as well as this site for making me realize how truly important the simple life is. The young men and women less fortunate to be home with thier families will be in my thoughts and prayers today more than ever. I pray God keeps them safe and in some small way touches their hearts that they may know we at home are with them in spirit. God Bless all and have a great day. Mac.
