No idea if this is true (doubt that it is), but I always thought it was pretty funny.

A General was interviewed on the radio recently. You'll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of an ABC interview between a female broadcaster and a General who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his Base.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General , what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL:
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

Your right it is funny and it illustrates a great point. It's on Snopes as being false: http://snopes.com/military/reinwald.asp

JUST for the record.

SNOPES is no authority on anything. They are a husband and wife at a kitchen table and they are liberal political activists. They were caught in several lies during the 2008 Presidential campaign.

I doubt the story is true, but never the less everyone needs to know the truth about "SNOPES."

True, their was an article on them in Readers Digest last year and some stuff that came out earlier this year. It's always good policy to take anything you find on the Internet (or any source) with a grain of salt and research it more fully even if you agree with the writer.

Now if I could just get my Mother-in-Law to believe that and stop sending us every crackpot email she receives I'd be set. ;):)
