Have you had a chance to pick one or both up and see how they feel? I have big hands and the handle was not comfortable for me. I'm a micarta kind of man though.

If I recall correctly, they are bolted on, and one could replace them with a custom grip set. Good piece of walnut and a rasp and drill and one could make a nice set. OR whatever material wise. Thinking of making a set for my TBT Jr. The micarta is great, but I'm all about some custom features.
Let me know what you come up with.

I never could find a store that stocked them ( at least close enough to drive to) either in the wasteland of NJ where I work or home in Missouri. BUT I got a Cabela's gift certificate for Christmas and have order the BK9.. will let you know. I like the idea of a thick blade with a flat grind.

Here is an interesting but dumb video about the BK9.

I believe this is because they were manufactured by Camillus knives. Camillius went under withing the last three years and no one else is making them.

I like the look of the Becker Combat Bowie- Big, but looks like it balances well.

I got it at Cabelas , but only becasue I had a gift certificate. $90. it is cheaper at other places. great knife for the price.

PD you are right it has real great balance.
