I've been looking at this website for the last half hour and I realized it's perfect for this category - loads of things that can be hand made for gifts.

It's got food, crafts, decorating ideas - really LOTS of stuff! A lot of it is easy enough for kids to do also, and not too expensive.
I really liked the little polar bear made by felting raw wool - a cute tree ornament; and the bangle bracelets made by wrapping yarn around a plastic bangle - this last would be good for young kids to make for gifts for each other - like a jazzy friendship bracelet, but easy to do! Also, some cufflinks (do guys still wear these?) - made with small stones and the backs from a craft supplier.
