Dear BHM friends,

This has been such a sad and scary past few weeks and I am asking for your thoughtful prayers not for me but for a girl who was on my daughters volleyball team.

In mid-November she ran away with her boyfriend, or so we all thought. But, tonight at a school-wide vigil we learned that the police and other investigators suspect that she was lured, via internet chat rooms, by an adult male who has now taken her to Guatamala.

I can't (actually don't want to) imagine what this poor girl is going through, much less her family. As a parent, I have felt ill since hearing the police's suspections. Our school is small, private and Christian based. To have this happen to one of our own is beyond words.

My daughter and I had a very serious talk about what happened and how these ugly people worm their way into young people's lives; that it is not safe for her to let people she dosen't know personally into her facebook or chat with them at all. It did cross my mind to cancel her facebook account, but after we talked I'm confident that the only people she talks with are school, 4-H, livestock show friends.

I know and trust that there is power in prayer and appreciate all who send one.

Thanks for letting me ramble.

Hey jonvee :)

I had jus logged out when I read this and came back. Two things come into my mind. That is remember Jonah? God kept him safe but inside the belly of a whale. It wasn't the best of conditions, but he did not perish, either. Also, I know from first hand experience that God can use ANYone to bring help to us. Even the last one you would think, can bring comfort or aid. So, let us keep faith that this child may have some help along the way.

This is every parent's nightmare, I think, and Yes.. my prayers will be constant until you let us know she has ben found and is home safe. In the meantime, guard your Treasure. These are precarious times and the lion lurks looking to see whoever he can devour. But God also.. never winks nor sleeps...

For I have not given Thee a spirit of Fear, but of Power, Love and a Sound Mind...

I'm happy to report that the girl has been safely returned to her family. We don't know any details and the school has asked everyone to respect their privacey as they heal and rebuild, which is totally understandable.

Thanks all.

This is tremendous news!! I know this must sound dum... but I named her Molly in my heart and to help her stand in front of my eyes... real and not a name on a bulletin board. I cannot tell you how happy I am... Thank You for this wonderful news. God is Great!

Thanks everyone. Sorry for the kind of hit and run, life got really busy all of a sudden, but now we're on break.

From what I heard, Ariel (I like Molly too Grizzy) just showed up at her grandmas house in Sacramento. When g'ma came home Ariel was just sitting on the porch.

Here's the amazing part we found out later - Ariels re-appearance came about the same time there was a school-wide prayer vigal for her safe return.

We were all so thankful that she wasn't taken south of the border like the police suspected. That would have been really scary.

Ariel hasn't returned to school, which is understandable, but noone knows any details or even if she will return to school. I hope she does. There's so much support for her that I don't think it would be as ackward as the family may think. Maybe we'll hear something after the holidays.

Thanks again all.
