I did a disaster presentation for some people over the week end and I was introduced to a new use for a B.O.B.
A local family went down to a town near New Orleans to be with family for Thanksgiving.
After experiencing Hurricane Katrina first-hand they thought that they had seen most everything.
Then the Saturday after Thanksgiving they were forced to evacuate the family member’s home they were visiting..
Just a few doors down there was a man holed up in a house. There was a stand-off between the man and the police.
They decided to go to the local park to wait it out. While they were there they got hungry.
Since my friends took their B.O.B with them they decided to dine from it rather than going to a store or a fast-food place.
There were 16 people there and all ate to satisfaction. Then the question came up about why they had food with them. They explained what a B.O.B. is and its purpose. Many thought that having a B.O.B. is a good idea. Now three more families have decided to start their own B.O.B. and will start stocking up for the next disaster.
