We left him at a doggie hotel while we went to maryland a few weeks ago, and he came home loaded.

I've tried a spray but am afraid to use it much because it sounds so dangerous, and the floor srray sounds worse.

Does anyone have a better way to get rid of them, the more natural the better. love, alma

It's not natural, but fairly benign and cheap when compared to the super poisonous crap!!

Dawn dishwashing liquid!
A couple or 3 drops.

It drowns the little suckers!!!

I've been using it for years.

During summer I make some doggy flea shampoo bars that do seem do help repel flees some.

Our new puppy had fleas pretty bad, worms too. As soon as we got her from the humane society, we gave her a bath with Sergeants flea and tick shampoo. It claims to be safe for puppies and lasts for 10 days, being most potent on the 7th day. We put her in the sink, rinsed her down and then lathered her up. We let it sit for 5 minutes while we used a hair comb/brush to get the lather all the way to the scalp, then rinsed with warm water. After that we pulled a few dead fleas off her. The next day, my wife gave her another bath the same way. About 5 days later, one more bath. This really cleaned her up and got rid of all fleas and eggs. After a few days, I put frontline on her to keep her clean for a few months. Of course it is winter time so there isn't a real threat around here. Our last dog we used frontline once every three months and never had an issue.

I've heard of the dish soap method as well but the vet told us to specifically get palmolive. I'm thinking that most of the dish detergents are the same composition though.

Sweetie uses a cap full of lysol in the kitchen sink with probably 3-4 gal of water. Puts the pup in the sink and uses a glass to pour the liquid over dog. Kills the pesky little vermin real good. Afterwards a nice shampoo bath to rinse the lysol out.

A few drops of dish soap did it for our puppy.
I haven't seen a flea in a long, long while now, but she has ear mites and we use med in ears for that, but she seems to be bothered a lot by them. what now?
Thanks for the dish soap trick. It really worked great.
Now, what do i do about her bad breath? Ugh!
