Gittin' Snow Off The Panels..

I use a piece of firewood and a piece of rope and drag it across them to break through and let the sun do the rest.. ;)

If the snow isn't too thick, I use a super soaker full of windshield washer fluid and squirt 'um down..

i wonder, if the temp is not too low, if covering the panel with a sheet of black poly would not melt it off in short order ? of course, the sun would have to be shining, but if it was not there'd be no rush to clean the panels -

Have you ever tried covering them with tarp before the snow starts and then pulling off the tarp. Use to do this with trucks so we would not have to get the windshield cleaned off and defrosted before we went plowing.

It's hard to tarp them when they're 20' off the ground..

LOL... I know you put your panels high to deter theft, but mine are low enough that I take one of those long ice scrapers with the brush on the back. That is just enough for me to reach the top. The brush is usually all it needs. Some times, I have to scrape it off, but not usually.

We need to invent and patent self-cleaning panels.
