I've been taking care of my sister's home and pets (along with all the other stuff I have to do...sigh!) since November when they left to work in ND.

Anyway...I was out diggin' taters (I keep a garden both here and there)...the little dog , a Yorkshire Terrier, got stung in the mouth by a hornet...ouch!!!! I thought, man, I really need to watch him closely...sure enough...10-15 minutes later I'd went back into the house...went into the bathroom and when I stepped back out.... he was flat on the floor semi-unresponsive and breathing erratically!!!! :o

I grabbed some liquid Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and gave him 10 mg with an eyedropper.....called a vet friend and headed out the door......by the time I got to the vets he was beginning to come around.....
I'm sure that if I hadn't given him the Benadryl he may not have made it.
It's a good thing to keep around!

Wow, quick thinking and glad he's okay.

benadryl is a life saver. and one of the safest of medications. You can buy generic versions very cheaply to have on hand. It's great for allergic reactions, and as a sleep inducer. I always have some in the medicine chest.
