Hi,
Do you notice a pattern to this indoor pooping? Is the puppy doing this shortly after eating, if so I would suggest that you feed at regular times each day and then take the puppy outside and keep it out there until it poops.
Also, and I am not a huge advocate of this but all the puppy books I have read suggest crating or caging the puppy until it learns the rules. Puppies normally won't pee or poop in a crate as long as the crate is not to big where they have room to poop away from where they sleep.
Hope this helps.

The best way to reteach the pup is to watch it carefully and when it starts nosing around that spot, take it outside and stay out with it until it's done it's thing.
Clean the area with bleach and get some of the spray repellent for pets.DO NOT USE AMMONIA to clean where a pet has soiled. To them it smells just like urine.
Keeping a constant watch on the pup until he's got the idea of where he's supposed to go is your best defense.Habits are hard to break, especially in smaller dogs for some reason.
why not litter train your dog? maybe just put a litter pen where it goes.

Litter training would be nice, but then they have tendency to eat the poop, then lick my face and then yuck no one wants to kiss ya ::) but thanks for the ideas.

We have a radio show called "Calling All Pets" here in Wisconsin, on public radio. She suggests using the words "Hurry up" as you train your puppy to go outside. It sounds so much better than the alternatives! ;D
Also, if he has a particular spot he's used, it'll take some very good cleaner to remove the scent - I know there are some on the market for this purpose.

We have the same problem except that Scooter will pee outside and then do it inside in about 15 minutes when she comes back in. She just cannot catch on. She will be 16 weeks in a couple of days. We have tried everything!
