I am posting this under education as I found chapter 12 in Gavin de Becker's book Gift of Fear to be a must read for parents with children in school.
Chapter 12 contains essential material for parents about the dangers of child on child violence in public and private schools. I used to work for our local school board in their Campus Police Dept., and I will tell you that the public is shielded from hearing of the child on child violence that took place several times a day in the elementary schools. My experiences convinced me to never put my daughter in public school.
In the appendix he includes a list of suggested questions to ask a school administrator before you consider enrolling your child.
