I made my own cayenne based liniment using most of the ingredients in the Back to Eden book by Jethro Kloss. I used Cayenne, alcohol and I added Rosemary oil.
The liniment I used was a little helpful but it did not really deliver the heat the way the over the counter Capzasin Hp Arthritis pain relief cream that I bought at the store does. I tried this stuff today for the first time on my hands and it really seems to have taken a nice nip out of the pain I've been experiencing in my fingers and thumbs. At first it burned some, I'm sure because my hands are somewhat chapped. Now it is just feeling warm and I am planning to give it a try on my knees, elbows, feet and neck tonite.
I'd like to know--has anyone made a balm or ointment that is as effective as the Store bought stuff?
I can buy it with my HSA card so at least I'm not paying taxes on it--but I'd rather make it if I can make something that actually works this well.
Also--there are herbal things that truly are as good as RX drugs. My Dr gave me an RX for Klonapin to help me sleep as needed. Well I found that melatonin in a formula where it is mixed with vitamins and herbs--is just as good and non addicting.
Some herbal remedies I've tried have been a waste of time--but some really are pretty good. The capzasin I think is going to make it possible to stay off serious RX meds. I use aleve 2x a day and ibuprofen as needed on really bad days but I don't want to go any deeper into the RX arthritis drugs--so I'm thrilled with this stuff. I also tried Aspercreme but it seemed to deliver only minimal effect. It has now been hours since I put on the capzasin and its really better.
Looking for a pepper cream that works if anyone has a recipe, for less than store bought.:)
