Dont like em and sure as the devil dont need em.

Buy me a 2 pound sack of grits every year and when I see a pile--just pour me some uncooked right out of the bag grits on em and them little fellers eat em up and even carry some back down in the nest to the queen.

It works and much cheaper than anything else I tried.

why thanks for mentioning that. I am gonna try it. our well house is full again. quick acting agricultural lime works good, too. but only for a while. If they like a place they try to settle there again.

Between the grits and the borax/corn syrup mixture my ants are still gone gone gone!

I added a little water to the borax mixture so it would not get so thick and put it in a milk cap.

OK, I've got to ask, How do the grits kill the ants? I understand how the borax/syrup mixture works, but grits????

The ants eat the grits, the grits soak up stomach fluids and expand, killing the ants. :o

Thanks Johnny. Never heard of that.

.....of course being this far north, I don't see grits on the store shelf to often. ::) ;D

We unfortunately discovered that carpenter ants eat plywood :-(
The OSB they didn't touch but the good 3/4" plywood, they ate tunnels in between the layers and routed out grooves on the tops, inplaces right down to the glue (generally the good sides, of course). Have resorted to putting poison into the holes along the plywood edges.

I have got rid of about every kind of ant using nothing but grits.
My place is ant free and when some pop up then out comes the bag of grits.
Works for me and my friends that have taken my advice and used it so who knows--

one thing for sure--its cheap!

I used the grits and they have either left or blew up. Works good i reckon. Looks like they have been cut back on at least 80%. They were a crap load of them everywhere. Thanks for the tip.
