Here's a video of a guy who moves huge and heavy things with no pulleys or levers, just rope, rocks and sticks (boards)! Although your run of the mill homestead rarely requires a Stonehenge installation, you might be able to use his technique to move a barn or out building (or some big rocks that are just in the way!

That was really amazing! So, the aliens didn't build the pyramids after all. Who would have ever guessed!

It just proves that scientist aren't always right and history is full of events that happened when people set their mind to it and ignored the naysayer's.

My current signature saying paraphrases that sentiment:
"The Roman Rule: The one who says it cannot be done should never interrupt the one who is doing it..." (Unknown author)

Archimedes said "Give a long enough lever and I could move the Earth." I have always been fascinated by leverage and mechanical advantage. I will be saving a copy of this to a flash drive so I can use it as an impromptu lesson in my substituting at school.
Thanks CarolAnn.

Thanks, Carol Ann, that was pretty amazing!
Although I am so clumsy that I know if I tried it, I would find out firsthand how so many Egyptian slaves ended up as involuntary mortar in between the stones of the pyramids...
