Living in a small town in Vermont we have thought about this. Maybe a few chickens in the backyard.

Glad to see this! Most Towns and Villages have ordinances against raising livestock or farm animals to include poultry.

Some communities won't even allow clothes lines. I couldn't live in a place like that. Good for the people of Bruns wick!!!!!!!!!! :)

We had that no clotheslines allowed at the state regulated housing in VT. Taxpayers put up a stink and they passed the "Right to Hang" law.

Does it ever bother any of you about the arrogance in those laws and rules? Back in our grandparent's day, everyone had chickens in thier back yard. Many people all over the world keep goats in their yards or pigs. And in the US there are communities that won't allow gardens. We use tons of crap to kill "countryside" flowers from our lawns because we want pure green grass. People are being told what color to paint their homes and whether or not they can even have a fence in some areas. No clotheslines? Specific garbage cans set out only at specific times. How arrogant is America?

Maybe if we (as a nation) took a little of our fertile ground to grow food (be in animal or plant) rather than growing pure green carpet just to look at, we wouldn't have so many people in the world going without.

I think a big thing with America now adays is mostly everyone is all about there image. How they look, and most of all what people think of them. Its worse than high school!

This is what people think...well at least what I think people think of the following things... what do I know I'm only 30 years old though.

Clothes lines....make your neighbor hood look poor.

Gardens....why bother I can go to the store and buy everything perpared so I can have more time to rot my brain on the old T.V. set. Plus gardens take time and effort!

Synchronize trash cans! Hey even the coolest and most hip people have great looking trash cans up to date with the latest styles!

Color of your house.....man give me a break! So I can buy a house its mine but a few people on the city or county board tell me what I can & cant do with it? Why not just rent then!

Animals in your yard? Whats this are you a hillbilly or a survivalist? Wow your weird, only poor people do that..
