Does anybody know where you can get a good desulfator and a good price?
Or has anyone ever built a High power Desulfator use the wiring diagram from: http://home.comcast.net/~ddenhardt201263/desulfator/highpower.htm

I don't know beans about these, but I will follow this thread avidly, since I need one also!
Son in Law has built a small desufator, but I don't know any specs. I'll ask and get back to you.

I have a 12v one I'd be happy to sell. I played with it for about a year and concluded it made only a very slight improvement in battery life not worth the effort in mho. I did take a completely dead battery and gave it some additional life but not enough to warrant time and investment. I found mine in an automotive store as I recall.

Thank you, I'm thinking about building the one on here it's suppose to be pretty high output or something like that. ebay has one for sale that's suppose to be for all size batteries. just don't know what would be best.

I use one of these on my battery. I service a couple of Fire Departments that use these on their vehicles and they can vouch for the performance. Normally the units are on shore power being float charged for days at a time and the batteries will become very shallow in current output over time, maybe in a year or less. It seemed that they had to replace the batteries every 12-18 months which is very expensive. Since they started using these desulfators, they've gained almost double life from their batteries. That sold me..
I run 4 golf cart batteries and I usually replace them every 5 yrs. This last year I couldn't easily afford to replace them so I'm going on year 6. I did a load test on each one and they test almost as good as new! I'm impressed..

Thank you I'm picking up 6 golf cart batteries tomorrow hope I can get one of these and get them back up to power... Trying to get more. I found one on ebay that was also a charger. What do you think about that one it was about double the price but if it did the job it'd be worth it too...
Thanks again

I've looked into this some and concluded that the desulfator devices do little more than what happens if you take good care of batteries. Specifically, you need to run a vigiorus equalization charge every couple of months to keep you batteries healthy. If they're sick, a good equalization charge will knock some life back into them (keep eye on fluid levels!)
I spoke with a former Xantrex engineer, who was big on these, but he was unable to explain any desulfator magic that happens beyond good equalization charges.
Just my 2 cents worth :)

yeah I've read the article and really liked what it said. and if you've used this one and had good results I'm really thinking of getting that one. Charging was no big deal with it.
