I fed the bees and I watered the seedlings. I picked up my bedroom a little, and I hit the library. I made something creative (and tasty!) out of leftover chicken, salsa, and cheese and there were no complaints because they are all in town eating fast food. I walked the dog and I returned the bunny he found to its nest.

DS called. He wanted me to drive in and pick him up early, because he was bored at the convention. I told him that I was enjoying the work that I was doing, and that he could help me, but I thought he would not like it as well! (BAD Mommy! I did not WANT to drive 3 hours round trip, and give up this lovely solitude for the life of a Mother! I am having too much FUN!)

So, I guess DH will take him home tonight on schedule, and I will enjoy the sounds of the owls at sunset!

Mommys need days like this sometimes!

Lol! An hour and a half one way just because he's bored?

Tell him to suck it up and deal with it, you've got things to do. ;D
Enjoy your day. :D

Terri,
I soooo understand what you mean about time like that for you to relax! I have 2 young children and basically care for them myself, my DH is always gone either out of the state working or busy with friends on his days home. I'd love to go outside and work once in awhile without having to worry about this little one running this way and the other running the other way getting into trouble! It's fun having them, but an occasional day out to get some major work done around the farm would be nice!!!

I MEANT to get some major work done... I MEANT to get soe major work done......

There are a lot of fun things to do in this home, and I just spent the day yesterday doing them! Hee Hee Hee!

They went for half of today as well, but it is time to get back to reality. They will want dinner tonight, and DH needs clean clothes for tomorrow, and so forth. They might be gone, but I have my usual chores! Today I think I will do them: we cannot afford to have me off for TWO days!

I DID extend my treat by going grocery shopping this AM. Shopping is MUCH more fun than laundry! And it is one of the weekly chores so I am NOT goofing of! Technically, any ways!

It was lovely. Now, back to reality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL :) I know the feeling all to well, that is what I am doing today, had to put my laptop down and start laundry, dishes, ect before DH gets home today from being gone all week working out of state. It is nice sometimes when he is gone though, when he's here we have tons of people show up daily to do things with him and I'm always cooking a HUGE dinner (thanksgiving style) and day after day that gets old. Sometimes it's breakfast and dinner like that. So I'm preparing for them all to start showing up probably tomorrow. It WAS nice while it lasted!
It is a special treat when my DH watches the kids and lets me go grocery shopping alone! Sad that is the most excitement alone that I get, lol :)
Glad you got to enjoy your day!
