View Full Version : Robin Hood
This article made a lot of sense to me. Seems to me that people are encouraged to join the rat race and on top of that are encouraged to go in debt.
Not sure I agree with rewarding the rich with lower taxes but I don't think they should be penalized.

Well, seeing as how the "rich" are paying much higher taxes right now, I don't have a problem with lowering their taxes to whatever percentage everyone else pays.
But I agree with how they are not teaching children to be anything but obedient pawns to the government.

I agree the schools stink, from elementary all the way thru college, in regards to teaching anything remotely related to appropriate spending, savings and money in general. Personally I believe all the big credit cards and banks should have to pay to 100% fund programs in all schools teaching the fine points of savings and responsable money use along with the evils of revolving credit and their fees. After all, they've built their kingdoms on the wallets and financial ruin of students for decades now.
As for the article, I have to disagree with the author's view. To me he's not looking deep enough to the main details of the story. I don't think the King and Sheriff represent the rich. If I recall, the King is corrupt and evil and taxes and taxes everyone along with terrorizing the masses. IMHO this more closely mirrors our own corrupt gov't to include the BATF & IRS in the rule of the Sheriff. The poor in the story more realistically represents all Americans - rich, middle class & poor. All taxed beyond common sense in order to hold up a corrupt over inflated govt. To ensure politicians live an elite life and existence. A gov't that is far from the small limited central gov't the framers of the Constitution intended.
So in that context I look more at Robin Hood as being symbolic of our society's need to back the control and money; to redistribute it not to the "poor" but to all. Not rich to poor but from Bureaucracy to the Citizenry.
Just my views.
