At last I have access to our own girls manure and know it is very high in nitrogen and was hoping for some advice. To keep from ruining our plants and garden soil, how much would be both safe and effective?
Thanks in advance...Ray

You could have put a thick layer on the garden in the fall, I wouldn't do that now tho. Maybe you can compost it with straw/leaves/sawdust and use it after it's cooked a while.

At this point I would compost the manure for a while till my garden got established and then use the manure like fertilizer to side dress with. But thas jus me.

Have a great day!

I'd put it down the middle of the rows between the plants...

It's nothing more than "side dressing" when you do that, and the plant roots will get what they need as they grow out away from the plant. You don't have to spread it as thick as i did in the pict. between the rows of my sweetcorn...

Why spread any fertilizer all over the whole garden?? To feed the weeds?? Same with water...

I do this every year, and then cover it with hay mulch...
