Being Spring it's raining like crazy and there doesn't appear to be a break in the weather for days. Of course foul weather can be a great time to hunt/patrol, regardless the game because like man, other animals don't tend to pay real close attention to what's happening around them when trying to stay dry. Hence, my dirt cheap foul weather rifle cover because nobody wants to subject their high dollar toys to extremely nasty weather if possible and I do love my toys. I find my covers (collapsable lawn chair bag) frequently at thrift stores for under a dollar so grab em when ya see em. They weight almost nothing, can be used for stowing (rain) gear in backpacks, come with a shoulder strap and in many colors, however my preference runs to brown, green and black as well as short/long, narrow/wide depending on the size requirements of a particular weapon you can keep one hand on the grip at all times. Once home I give them a heavy coat of silicone water-guard spray in a can found a most any Walmart for $3 or less. This is the very same stuff I'm sure all of us use as annual waterproofing for our BOB's, backpacks, tents, boots, and clothing we wear while hunting. Anyway, here are a couple of mine and I thought maybe a few of you folks might like the idea and put it to use if you hadn't thought of it before.
