Icy camellia, I believe 'Shi Shi Gashira', although I lost all the lables off them so I can't tell which is which.

Rose called Belinda's Dream, with a bit of icy snow.

All these did not have any damage from the ice and snow.

Pink seems to be the primary color this time of year.

I do! You know, it is the ONLY rose I have ever grown that you *really can* smell from a few feet away? You hear about how incredibly fragrant some roses are supposed to be, but in my garden this is the only rose I can say that is true. I'd like to add a few more of them.

don't get me started.

Blush Noisette - small pink blooms in clusters
Madame Alfred Carrier - warning - this is a house eater and has almost white blooms that are extremely fragrant

the strongest scented ones I have

The top two look like our wild roses that grow everywhere here. When the all bloom I open my car window on the way home from work. What a great smell.

Nice pics, GoodDaughter. Where do you live? My roses are snuggled under a foot of snow....

I'm near Houston. We rarely get snow, and usually just a dusting. We did get a similar snow event on Christmas Eve night back in 2004. It got about 1" deep on the ground, enough so the ground was evenly white. People were making 'snowmen' ::) I'm from up north originally, and I remember making REAL snowmen, so big it took three kids to lift the middle and top parts up. The 'snowmen' people make here look like 3 snow cones stuck together. And always on the hood of their cars for some reason?

I have a lot of roses blooming right now. They always have a good flush of blooms in the fall/winter, but it seems especially nice this year, and I attribute it to them being thrashed by the hurricane 3 months ago. Can't wait to see what the fruit trees do this spring.

I have so many old garden roses, so many 'antiques', I would have to walk around and take an inventory to make sure I didn't miss any. Right off the top of my head, my best blooming roses are Belinda's Dream, Souvenier de la Malmaison, Sombruel (however it's spelled) Old Blush, Marechal Neal, Mrs. B.R. Cant, Mrs. Dudley Cross (which has a huge bud on it right now, can't wait for it to open), Maggie, Marie Pavie and Marie Daley, Martha Gonzales, Spice, White Pet, Odee Pink (which I suspect is misnamed) Amazone, Clotilde Soupert and Climbing Clotilde Soupert, Mutabilis, Ballarina, Yellow Musk,... I could go on and on. I have so many I can't think of them all. And always looking for spots to cram in more. I need more yellows. The yellows of the old garden roses are so pale and fade so fast... Nacogdoches (aka 'Grandma's Rose) is a darker yellow, but I have three, from two different sources, and they seem to have a hard time on their own rootstock. I am excited about finding a new yellow rose that's supposed to come out this spring--it's a yellow 'Knockout', I think it's called 'Sunny Knockout'. I have the original dark pink Knockout, and the light pink Knockout (can't recall it's proper name) and if I could get a strong, well blooming yellow...that would be great!

I also have a lot of non-antique roses that just bloom so well here that I love them. Don Juan, Peace, Climbing Blaze, Carpetflower Red....
