Myhusband just does not like doing things on our homestead....he never has and has made it clear all the animals and more are "mine" to deal with....(He grew up on a farm, part of the time as a foster child and was forced to do much labor so in a way I don't blame him...)
So I've been pretty much on my own for a long long long time.....
This weekend a new egg customer who moved to our area from the BIG city wanted his wife to see my animals so I walked to the sheds and barns with them and their baby....
From the chicken house to the bunny barn there are two heavy duty extensioin cords that are run in the air from the corner of the chicken house to the bunny barn. One goes from the goats' electric fence charger and the other goes from the former heat light which is now on a timer as a small bulb to help the girls lay from 4:30 a.m. until 6:30....
The wires are completely safe and I have them "tied" together with a plastic twistie tie just to keep them high and out of the way.....
The guy just laughed and laughed and laughed when he saw the wires because my HUSBAND is an electrician and he has talked to him about rewiring his house......
