1. Look up the county

2. call the county courthouse, and ask the secretary who answers the phone who you need to talk to about septic. Secretaries usually know how to get a hold of EVERYBODY!

3. Ask the proper person your septic questions.

4. ALSO ask the secretary how you can find out is land owners are allowed to camp out while they are building their homes. In some places you can, but in some places they expect you to have a trailer instead of a tent.

Good luck!

Nobody hates rules and regulations more than I do, but when it comes to septic systems, you really need to be careful. Depending on soil conditions, waste can travel more than you might think.
When I was a boy, my parents had a cottage on a small lake. Pretty much all of the septic systems were homemade. One day the county came by and put red dye in all the drains and toilets. We were all pretty upset about it until that red dye started showing up in areas where we went swimming.

Thats called a red tide in western wash and you can't eat the clams or crabs. For you western wa. people , you can appreciate that.
