View Full Version : The Government Killed another local farm...

How did they do it?
Well, a little over 6 years ago the state legislature here passed a law that claimed that the State owned the rain. For that reason you cannot have a rainbarrel, etc. Nothing to catch water. Nobody got upset at the time, except maybe me!!! They put the law before the legislature for several years before they wore them down to pass it. Probably traded for some pork somewhere else. ::)
Anyhow - it's happened. They shut down a small farm near here because they were watering with rain and not using the municipal water supply.
Now how many ways is this stupid? This area sees 4 FEET of rain a year at least!!! The municipality can't even provide enough water for their existing sprawling customer base but want to force a farm to use the same supply?
This finally has hit the news here - I wonder if it will cause anyone to take notice now. They sneak these regulations in and then use them when they want to control someone.
Is the government going to claim they own the sunlight powering your solar panels? The wind powering your generators? The air you breath?

if the solar stuff and wind keep up...and gov jobs are under fire when we don't need the power company to provid juice..you bet ya. They had all those people get behind banning outdoor wood burners until do-gooders had to pay for heating oil, then that stupid stuff didn't seem so smart..it's about money and people...if the people needed the rain, they would stand up as with drilling and wood stoves..
the bottom Dollar votes loudest.

I would not put it beyond them. what are folks with cisterns doing? will they have to get a water meter on their pump or what and pay a water bill? Unbelievable. They got nothing else to do? Vote them out.

It gets better. I think they are doing this because it's not just any old farm. It's a teaching farm to teach self reliance and sustainability!
Here is the link:

They say in here that it's the dry areas of the state wanting such laws and that "they" have been fighting to eliminate it for 6 years. BS!!!! They created that law 6 years ago themselves!!!! On top of that it was a Seattle legislator, NOT eastern slope that brought that law forward for years until it got passed.
It makes my blood boil to see how they lie their way out of it when it occurs to people just how stupid this is.
It's the tip of the iceberg - I think people are wising up bit by bit to what is really happening in government. I guess that is why government and those who support regulations are so hateful of us "homesteaders"!!!

ONce they got the rain barrel law in here, that was the next step that they try every year here - to put meters on wells and charge for usage. However they so far have not even dared to try that kind of a trick knowing they would meet with a huge revolt.
All of this in an area again that gets well over 4 feet of rain a year!

Smile and think happy thoughts, the 'rulers' mean well...LMAO
It's going to take more than voting for another idiot to change things, but I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know.

Ah, yes, but the difference is that this is what some here would call a "Sheeple" posted in a Letter to the Editor on the article I linked to.
I think it's starting to turn and people other than those of us who have been ranting for years are seeing the issues more clearly. Empty out a few more shelves in teh supermarket and raise taxes a bit more and there may be even more movement in this direction.
As I contended all along - people are not as dumb as some think. They will close their minds when attacked, anyone does, but when they see the evidence of what is going on affecting closer to home there is starting to be a reaction.

Well it's about time.....I'm surprised that folks would need to go so far to exercise freedom in a so called "free" society! But what do I know? (um...no...I'm not surprised...what a joke!) LOL ::)
It's a start!!!!!

Well, the main thing Daisy is is not pregnant... :( I hope to get her bred soon but otherwise she is very healthy and mowing away at the brush and tormenting the pigs through the fence.

Oh, the whole story just makes my blood boil!!! How completely assinine. We've got all those goofy liberals crying about global warming, and let's save the planet; and yet they shut down someone who is making wise use of an available resource. How stupid and ignorant!
We need a major uprising before these yahoos really do try to tax the sun and the wind.
Grrrr. >:(

And when television "goes digital" next year, we'll have yet ANOTHER appliance to plug-in the wall.......

Dear Deborosa and Forum Members,
Get this:
There was a United Nations treaty in the 1960s--of which the U.S. is a signatory--which declares that the Moon, Planets, asteroids, stars, and other objects in outer space may not be either claimed or owned by private individuals or nation-states in the United Nations. The treaty also prohibits weapons and military uses of space as well.
I'd love to see the day these U.N. Nimrods want to enforce that. The bulk of the U.N. membership come from societies and cultures that couldn't swing space travel in 100,000 years if it weren't for the technology of the U.S. and the West.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Give 'em Hell, Deborosa!

Some poor folks will be affected by this. *
As for me, as long as I can get my YouTube or other Web 2.0 video services and as long as I can play DVDs, I really am not all that concerned about the digital switch-over. *And if I have better fortune in the coming year, I'll just go with satellite anyway, so it still won't affect me.
Oh, I take that back...I'll still have to pay taxdollars for all the government vouchers for digital converter boxes, so I will be affected after all.

Afternoon Folks.
Deb, big brother is putting sealed meters on wells in S Fl. and has been for several years. I would make you a bet that they have a chip and can be remotely cut off too.
Cinok, google earth needs no gas to travel, probably not effective at night, but works very well after the sun comes up. If it is available to us, imagine what big brother has access to. The tag # can be read on the back of your car.
Martin, you want to hear a joke, there is a city called cape coral down here that sells the sheeple a gallon of water from the water main, then there is a second charge, to carry it away in the sewer system, it is treated and sent back to the customer for the third time (with a charge of course) to be used for lawn maint. And of course they pay a whopping charge to access the stuff in the first place. Funniest part of all is what they pay to buy their "house in hell". They cannot have a brand new pickup truck in their yard, yet it's ok to have a rusty old car there, nor can they park a boat in their yard. Now that's a joke ! :D

Townships told everyone that was how they would check to see who was building without a permit.
they took pics of ME working from space. Less they changed it, you can see it.
Google earth, Lambs Creek Road...Kingdom Inc..
white truck, grey Shirt...bunch of rocks.
But they still can't find Jimmy Hoffa, The ark of the Covanant, or Bin ladin
Things that make you go HHHMMMMMM

It's all about money not water. The water you don't have to buy has been outlawed.
