New Kind of Fly Trap

I had set up a 6 gallon bucket of manure tea out in the sun a couple days ago, and was floored when I saw the amount of flies swimming around in it. and buzzing around it. I went in and got some olive oil and dribbled some into it to smother the little buggers. Anyone ever run into this phenomenon? Better than any other bait I ever used to trap flies.

We found these bag things that you fill with water and hang up. Flys go in and drown. Best damn things I ever used. WARNING - when they get enough dead flies in them they start to stink.

There`s many ways, I think, to catch flies. I`d like to find one type, and develop it, and maybe patent it. The odor is basically what does it. Now I`ve been trying some designs with soda bottles which may be good. You have to provide a way for them to go in, but prevent them from leaving until they die. What is the name of the trap you found?

Yep, that's already been invented. I have two kinds - one is a plastic top on a plastic bag that has a tube of "attractant" in it (smelly stuff). You press the tube open through the bag and hang it up - it catches lots of flies! Then I just got a package of two "caps" with two tubes of Attractant that you put in your own milk jugs and put the cap on it. Once I have the caps then I would imagine any kind of smelly stuff will serve to refill the milk jug.
