CArpenter ANts

Hello Guys,

Not sure where this goes so thought I would try here. I have carpenter ants in my cabin what is the best way to get rid of them. I have sprayed with raid but that makes my cabin
stink and it says it only lasts for 30 days. I have it almost completely stained but that does't seem to be slowing them down any. ANy ideas? Thanks

It is expensive but get Tempo SC Ultra. It is concentrated but goes a long long way. It is labeled for restaurants, hospitals, etc. Most co-ops have it as do farm and home stores.

Get some quick grits and spread it around where the ants can get it. They will eat it and it will explode the little critters!

I tried it around a couple of oak trees that I have here and the ants were bad! Just a couple days later, most were gone!

You probably have a moisture problem to get them to move in.

I have used neem oil.

People that I have seen use grits have mixed boric acid or DE with it.

Hi Guys,

THanks I will try any of those. They are putting holes in my ceiling. They are eating all of the knot wholes out of the celing.

They are removing the ceiling to make a place to live, it is an accident when they poke through, if it is accessible it will probably smell better to suck the nest into a shop vac.

There is water near, look for a roof or wall leak.

Heating past 140 F for a day will move the nest or may kill it.

No location and the description also fits drywood termites and the heat works for them.

I work for a Pest Control business. We drill & inject ceilings & walls with Tempo. It kills the nest before they know they need to move. They can move their nest in less than a day.
